On December 28, 2007, the Hong Kong rap duo Fama 農夫 went onto CRHK 903's 'Chik Chak Music Industry' program where host Mini asked 6Wing (陸永) who, in his opinion, is a megastar (巨星) in the Hong Kong music industry, 6Wing answered, "Eason Chan." He explains that Eason has a megastar quality -- being likeable -- and no one else has that quality; it is that quality that enables people to either like him a lot or like him a little, but people won't dislike him.

Photographer JC (Johnny Cheng 鄭智聰), passed away December 29, 2007 to cancer, at age 32.
Majoring in photography at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University while being an assistant to a Philippine photographer, JC became a freelance photographer to numerous Hong Kong magazines after graduating. He would later open his own studio and become photographer to the stars, including Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, Zhou Xun, Eason Chan, Miriam Yeung, Joey Yung, Denise Ho and many others.
Many of his industry friends were in shock when they found out he had cancer, saying it was all too sudden. When they heard of his health getting better, many of them wanted to visit him, among those were Eason Chan who visited him a number of times and Miriam Yeung who gave him encouragement.
His wish to have his own gallery exhibit was fulfilled this past month when his exhibit, Awakening, opened on December 18th and is currently still open until January 4, 2008. Although he could not attend the opening of his exhibit, due to needed rest, his industry friends were present in his honor including Miriam Yeung, Joey Yung, Denise Ho, Amanda S., Chapman To, Hilary Tsui, Isabella Leong, Hins Cheung, Kenny Kwan, 2R, Yumiko Cheng, Shawn Yue and others. 2R and Hins Cheung not only helped out with the exhibit, but also helped out with the funds by taking money out of their pockets to make this exhibit happen. A photography book of JC's work is on sale at the exhibit, hoping to use the funds to help JC and his family.
When hearing of his passing, Hins Cheung says that although he had already known this day was coming soon there is no way to prepare for the sadness.
Isabella Leong says, "It is very sad. Every photographer takes beautiful pictures, but JC was also able to bring out each person's individuality in his pictures, he was very smart. I will never forget the times we had when he shot pictures of me."
Miriam Yeung and Joey Yung shared similar sediments as they both felt it was best for him. Joey says, "From a different angle, to no longer having to battle the illness is a form of relief." While Miriam, who saw him in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, also feels it is a form of relief for him.
Rosanne of 2R found out of his passing while at his exhibit and had to leave.
Jaycee Chan had bought a copy of JC's photography book and hoped that he would get it autographed by JC, but before he could ask, JC had already passed away.

On May 18, 2007, Angela Chang 張韶涵, who was in Nanjing, was interviewed regarding a recent incident that almost brought her to tears. During the interview, it was brought up that Eason Chan was also in Nanjing on his University Tour to promote his newest album Admit It. In regards to this Angela says, "I really like his songs. He is the male artist that I want to work with most. He is known to be a good guy and cares for his family, if I were to choose a boyfriend I would want him to have those qualities."
On December 17, 2007, Angela Chang was in Beijing promoting her newest album Ang 5.0. During the promotion, Angela was asked which other artists she hoped to work with. Without hesitation she names Eason Chan and goes on to praise Eason's performance at the TVB8 Mandarin Music On Demand Awards Presentation the night before. She says that she felt it was inappropriate to ask him if he wanted to work with her during the award ceremony, but she hopes that they will be able to work together in the future since they are under the same record label.
Eason Chan, who has recently been busy filming, will get Christmas Day off and will spend it with his daughter and wife. When asked if he will buy his daughter a present for Christmas, he answers that he will not purposely buy a present for her because whenever he sees something right for her he will buy it. He further says that he has been filming late into the night and hasn't had time to see his daughter and he guesses that his daughter will be happy just seeing him. He also says that his daughter is a good girl and she possesses his energetic genes.
Earlier, Sammi Cheng said she dreamt that Eason and Hilary Tsui will have a son. To this Eason responds, "Before our daughter was born she dreamt that we will have a daughter, she can see the future." Eason goes on to say that he and Hilary plan to have another child, saying "Good things come in doubles. I believe our daughter will be happier with a sibling and the family as a whole will be happier with another person." As for when, Eason says that he has been really busy this year, so they are planning for next year.

Miriam modesty says she thinks Eason has the best chance of winning, and jokes because he is the "universal king".
Miriam was asked about the TVB Jade Solid Gold Round 3 Voting incident a couple of days ago where Eason left the studio in the middle of filming. She supports Eason and feels he didn't do anything wrong, saying, "He only wanted to perform his best for everyone to watch. There is nothing wrong with having a high standard for performance. It was his straight forward personality." Asked whether she knew all about the incident, she responds, "Denise and I were talking at the time and thought we could leave after our performance."

Yesterday, a press conference was held for the upcoming TVB special, literally translated: Learn. Care. Story of a Million People 了解. 關懷. 一百萬人的故事, which will be hosted by Sandra Ng. TVB executive Stephen Chan, host Sandra Ng and participant Eason Chan were in attendance for the press conference. Learn. Care. Story of a Million People is a concept Sandra created for celebrities to use their influence to visit, film, and have those fortunate enough to not be living in poverty to realize that although Hong Kong is a modern city, there are still over a million people living in poverty.
For this TVB special, Sandra invited some of her industry friends to participate, including Carina Lau, Eric Tsang, Kelly Chen and Eason Chan, who will all personally visit and film real life stories in hopes that more fortunate Hong Kong citizens will care for those in poverty. The filming will begin at the end of December. Sandra says that after giving birth to her daughter she has learnt to think for the long-run. She questioned herself asking, what if she passed away? What if she can no longer work and provide for her daughter? What if she did not save up enough money for her daughter? All these questions made her range of thinking wider and made her realize that although Hong Kong is a prosperous city, there are still over a million people living in poverty. Realizing this, she came up with an idea to try to influence the more fortunate to care for those not as fortunate. She says that if one million can lower to five hundred thousand, it would already be very good. To film this special Sandra had to reject filming a series, in regard to this Sandra says that there will always be opportunities to film series, but filming a meaningful special is hard to come by.
Sandra revealed that Eason gets emotional easily, saying that he cried just listening to stories of those in poverty, and when asked to participate he immediately said yes. When asked if he is more emotional because of the birth of his daughter, Eason responds that it is not the case. He says that he isn't someone that easily cries, but as he has gotten older he has become more sensitive. When he hears of emotional stories, he is now easily brought to tears. In regards to helping film this special, Eason hopes that he can change people's view of those in need.

Two days ago, on December 19th, Hacken Lee shot a music special for TVB in HD for the first time. For his music special, Hacken invited Eason Chan, Sammi Cheng and TVB executive Stephen Chan. During the special, Hacken and Eason performed each other's songs individually and together. The two were having a lot of fun and jumping around causing a lot of sweat on their foreheads. And because this was special was filmed in HD, the director asked the two to re-shoot the segment and calm down a bit, in essence, hinting that their sweat would be apparent when aired on television.
During the special, Eason asked Hacken why his hair has been dyed blond for so many years. Hacken replies that he won his first [TVB] Male Singer Award after dyeing his hair and although he isn't a superstitious person he kept it blond as a form of luck. Hacken then points out that Eason won his first [TVB] Male Singer Award after he permed his hair. In response to this, Eason wonders how the award results will turn out if the two of them permed and dye their hair blond. Eason then jokes that he cannot dye his hair blond because he doesn't have much hair and he will look like a fat chicken.
According to fans who attended the filming of the special, when Hacken went backstage to fix his makeup Eason opted to talk to his fans. He went over to his fans and spoke with them for a while and joked that they should secretly sit within Hacken's fan area and try to find out what's going on. He continued to joke that while they are in the area they should raise the signs that say "Eason".

Recently, I dreamt that he and Hilary would have a boy. I don't even know why I keep dreaming of him and his family." In regards to these dreams, Eason responds, "I don't know why she dreams of us, maybe we were somehow connected in our previous life. Maybe I was her dog. Maybe Hilary was related to her somehow." When asked if Sammi had an attitude while filming, Eason says, "Even before she opens her mouth, I'm already talking away. She doesn't even have the chance to say anything. We are friends and we talk as friends."
During that night, Hilary Tsui revealed that she was not any good at gambling, but Eason is extremely good at Majong. She also says that they've already brought their daughter to play and celebrate Christmas because they are afraid that there would be too many people during Christmas.

There have been more and more awards every year in the Hong Kong music industry, but the industry lacks an award ceremony voted by the singers themselves. On Tuesday December 11th, Eason made a guest appearance at Jay Chou's 2007 Hong Kong Coliseum Concert. During the concert, Jay Chou joked that both he and Eason are "easily hurt men" as evident when [in the past] Eason hurt himself going on stage and he hurt himself coming down from the stage. That night, Eason thanked Jay for writing 淘汰 for him.
On Wednesday night at the weekly TVB Jade Solid Gold program, over 30 singers attended to promote their song for the Round 3 Awards. During the event, Eason performed his song Crying in the Party and immediately afterwards asked for a re-shoot. He then started to talk to TVB personnel about the re-shoot when suddenly he stepped off the stage and left the studio. Eason was talked into continuing the taping and he complied, shaking Miriam's hand apologetically. There was a moment of awkwardness, but when Eason started to sing [the re-shoot] he became himself again and apologized to all the singers.
During the original shoot, Eason was playing around too much during his performance and was not satisfied with the outcome; therefore, asking for a re-shoot. Afterwards he admits that he shouldn't have asked for a re-shoot on stage, saying, "I felt that there were a couple of lines I wasn't happy with, but I shouldn't have asked for a re-shoot on stage, I was wrong. I personally apologized to the producer and all the singers." The producer Poon Yur Gai says that there wasn't enough time for practice so there were technical problems, "Eason did request for a re-shoot, but he wasn't the reason we decided to re-shoot and I feel he shouldn't have requested a re-shoot [on stage]."

Over 50 singers were present at the 2007 Metro Radio Music Awards' Press Conference on December 1st morning. During the press conference, Eason Chan, Denise Ho, Joey Yung, Leo Ku and Miriam Yeung were seen with exhausted faces; Eason, Joey and Miriam were late for the event; and these top 5 singers left not even 30 minutes into the event, which led to rumors that Metro Radio's executive Chu Ming Yui 朱明銳 was extremely upset.
For the past 2 nights, these 5 singers (along with Andy Hui) were rehearsing for the Another 10 Years of Chik Chak Reunification Concert until 4 in the early morning. It is said that these 5 singers left Metro Radio's event early to practice for the Chik Chak event to take place that night, causing rifts that these singers left one station to help another.
Regarding these rumors, Miriam responded that they were required to get to the AsiaWorld-Expo by 12 in the afternoon. Eason's company expressed that Eason had no prior knowledge of the plans because it was all company organized. When asked if they'd rather help another station, Eason's company expressed that they will not talk about that topic. Denise on the other hand expressed her thanks to Metro Radio for their understanding and allowing them to leave early.
When Metro Radio's executive Chu Ming Yui was asked regarding these top singers leaving early, he put up a smile and made his company look understanding by saying, "We had a prior agreement, if they wanted to stay for the press conference they can stay, if they need to leave they can leave. Staying for the press conference was up to the record company." He lastly hinted that Metro Radio had already changed the event to an earlier time to work with the artists.
For the Another 10 Years of Chik Chak Reunification Concert on December 1, 2007, Andy Hui, Eason Chan, Leo Ku, Denise Ho, Joey Yung and Miriam Yeung had minimal time to prepare for the show and spent 2 nights practicing until 4 in the morning. Afterwards, Denise posted on her blog that this concert made the 6 of them even closer and despite the long hours no one complained.
Prior to the concert, the 6 singers recorded what they felt was most tragic to them in the past 10 years, which was then broadcasted during the concert. Joey feels her teacher, Roman Tam's, passing was most tragic. She feels sad that he was not able to see her grow up and she will always remember what he had taught her. Denise feels her Sifu, Anita Mui's, passing was most sad. She feels that her Siufu's passing forced her to grow up quickly. Andy feels that both of his parents' passing in the past 10 years due to illness was most tragic. During Andy's performance of 單車, Andy overcame with emotion and tried his hardest to hold back his tears. Leo was envious of the singers who were able to plug new songs during the two years he spent in Mainland acting. Eason feels most sad that he is not able to spend time with his entire family, not being able to see them everyday and not being able to tell them his feelings at the first moment. In the video, Eason turned around with this back facing the camera after speaking, giving off the impression he had to turn around to shed tears. Miriam feels there were more sad than happy events over the past 10 years. At times, it was so sad that she could not even cry, while she cried when she was happy.
Andy was responsible for singing the song 單車, a song that talks about a father and son relationship, and because of his father's recent passing he could not sing it at all during the practices. He later revealed that before the show he told Eason to sing it if he really couldn't. Eason says he told Leo to sing it if he couldn't either. During the show, Andy held back his tears and performed the song himself.
It was obvious that these singers did not have enough time to practice. During the show Miriam forgot some of her dance steps and she was unable to get into some songs because of an earpiece malfunction. Leo had a microphone malfunction where half way through a song the mic stopped working, they had to replace the mic and start the song all over again. Eason also swapped two verses of lyrics in a song.
When being interviewed after the show, Andy, Leo and Miriam revealed that the police showed up during their practice session. Andy and Leo joked that Eason wasn't wearing his shoes and the smell made the police suspicious, so they showed up. Eason joked that the police were Andy and Leo fans because when they saw the two singers everything was alright. [Actually, the police showed up because they were making too much noise early in the morning while practicing.]
As for the rumors circulating that these top singers left Metro Radio's event early and Eason being late to the event, Andy joked that they will need to punish Eason. Eason asked, "what type of punishment" and Andy responded, "they will give an extra award." The two men laughed at the joke before Andy said, "hey, I didn't even show up."
After the show, Eason, Leo, Denise, Joey and Miriam went for a mid-night meal to celebrate; Andy Hui could not make it because he had to leave for Mainland in the early morning. Miriam says, "We were busy practicing the past couple of nights and we were exhausted, but since it is rare that [the 5 of us] were able to get together, we decided to give up sleep for a meal. Eason could not stop talking, he would pretend to be other singers singing or pretend to be animals, it was extremely funny."
Eason goes to Fo Shan, China to promote his Listen to Eason Chan album, where he reveals album plans for 2008.

Leo, who has performed numerous of her songs over the past 2 years, used the words 非常 (extremely, always or very) to say 13 things he likes about Ivana's song and her as a person. Ivana's secondary school idol Andy Hui hopes that Ivana will help the Hong Kong industry revive its glory in the Mandarin market. Miriam, who sees Ivana as a little sister says, "she is a very talented, very unique and very cute. I like her, I hope she likes me and will write songs for me to sing in the future." Eason, with his humor says, "Ms. Wong, be careful when you eat 胖 in Taiwan because I have experience [with 胖 in Taiwan.] Have fun in Taiwan and don't come back, bye bye."
Tanya Chua 蔡健雅, accomplished songwriter and winner of the 2006 Taiwan Golden Melody - Best Female Vocalist award, recently promoted her newest album, Goodbye & Hello, in Shanghai. She mentions that one of the tracks, 達爾文, was originally written for Eason Chan.
Tanya admits she is a one-sided wishful thinker. She has always admired Eason and always thought of working or singing with him, but unfortunately it has yet to happen. She says she woke up one morning wanting to write a song for Eason and ended up writing the song 達爾文. While writing the song, she felt every note being very much Eason and in the recording process she imitated Eason. She let her friends hear the song and they felt it was very Eason-styled. She even told her company that she would not sell the song to anyone other than Eason, and it was through her company that Eason received a copy of the demo. Two years later there was no response and only through bumping into Eason did she find out he thought the song was good. Tanya personally felt Eason didn't really like song so she ended up using it for her own album. Thinking back, Tanya feels that it is quite funny.
When it comes to her emotions Tanya Chua has always been calm and reserved and you would've never seen her take initiative, until Eason Chan came along. She says, "I don't know why Eason's voice is so captivating. It has always been the singer asking a composer for a song, but I took the initiative to write a song for him, but after two years he still didn't use it."
Originally written for Eason, 達爾文 is now a song in Tanya's album. Despite the song not being used by Eason, she says she doesn't feel rejected, saying "I've always felt this was the type of song for him, I used the feeling of his performances in my performance of this song." As for her initiative towards Eason, she says this was the first time for any star.
About a week prior to his 2007 HK Coliseum concerts, Eason mentioned that the title, Moving On Stage 1, can used as an indication of his career. Being in the industry for over 10 years he is ready to move on, past stage 1, onto stage 2 of his career.

Eason went to Fo Shan, China on December 2, 2007 to promote the Mainland version of Listen to Eason Chan, which goes on sale December 8th. After the promotion, Eason answered many questions including his plans for next year in music.
Eason reveals that his next album will be a Mandarin album, which he has already begun working on. He says he cannot say much more, but when asked if he wants to work with other people in his new album, he answers he wants to work with Thai musicians because he likes their feel for music.
After the Mandarin album, Eason hopes his next album will be something different. He hopes he can work on a duet album where he can work with other singers. He names Tanya Chua, Stefanie Sun and Kay Tse as a few [Taiwan and Hong Kong] singers he hopes to work with. For Mainland singers, he hopes to work with Han Hong.
Just over a year ago, on December 1, 2006, Eason stated there were 3 projects he hopes he can create. According to Mini (CRHK 903 DJ) Eason has been talking about these projects for years.
1. "Masters" Album - new music from the composers who are considered "masters" of the industry, such as Joseph Koo, Michael Lai, To Ji Chi, etc. 2. Full Dance Album - a full album of dance music 3. "Duels" (or "Do It") Album - an album that gathers singers together for the opportunity to work together, get to know each other better and record at the same time
Status of these projects: 1. In process - Eason already started communicating with these "masters", he is getting to know them and they are getting to know him better. Michael Lai has already submitted his song - Crying in the Party. The project has now been adjusted from "masters" to well known composers, including those not labeled "masters." 2. Done - Listen to Eason Chan 3. Concept - Eason mentions this project in the above article. Eason previously stated he wanted to create the trio of Harlem Yu, Jacky Cheung and himself.
In celebration of the 10 Year Anniversary of the Reunification and Another 10 Years of Chik Chak 903, CRHK organized a concert 又一個叱吒十年回歸音樂會 to gather, the 6 male and female singers (Miriam Yeung, Joey Yung, Denise Ho, Andy Hui, Eason Chan and Leo Ku) who have each won the Chik Chak Gold Award over the past 10 years, on the same stage on December 1, 2007.
The theme of this concert was, of course, 10 years. During the concert, these 6 singers performed individual and each other's hits. Many collaborations were organized including duets, trio collaborations, a dance medley and all 6 performing together. The concert not only showcased these 6 singers and their songs; they also paid tribute to the late Roman Tam, Richard Lam, Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui and James Wong Jim. Sandy Lam made a special encore appearance.
Here is the rundown, including theme segments, of the concert:

Other tidbits: - Denise's outfit was fully white during the concert, but turned yellow when she returned to the stage for the encore. No, she did not change her outfit, instead she covered her head with a towel and was sprayed with yellow paint. - An always active Eason picked up Miriam (unplanned) while dancing and garnered a hit from her. - Leo, who is known for having sweaty palms, wore gloves while dancing to avoid sweaty contact with the other artists. - Andy became teary during his performance of 單車, as he remembered his recently passed father.
Yesterday afternoon, over 50 singers attended the 2007 Metro Radio Music Awards' Press Conference to promote the upcoming music award ceremony, to take place December 26, 2007. During the press conference, Eason Chan expressed his support for Kay Tse and asked listeners to forget about her image (body) and family and focus on her music. Kay later expressed her thanks to Eason for speaking out loud her same feelings. She further says, "I don't mind being called fat, but there are a lot of singers who work hard on their music and if listeners are going to focus only on their clothes and hair, their hard work is wasted."
