Eason's Moving On Stage 8 - Shanghai will be held on April 26, 2008. Yesterday, an organizers of the concert said he has confidence in the ticket sales, saying, "Shanghai's market is big, Eason Chan's skills are acknowledged, he swept last year's awards in Hong Kong and he has many hit songs over the years. We are not worried about his popularity; prior to ticket sales fans have already started talking about the concert, once tickets went on sale (in late January) over $800,000 in tickets were sold." Eric Tsang Sees Acting Potential in Eason Chan

Eric Tsang sees a temporary shortage of films in the Hong Kong industry and hopes that everyone will work together in contributing to the film industry. In regards to younger actors and behind-the-scenes crew, who does Eric see potential in? After taking a moment to think Eric says for actors he sees potential in singers Eason Chan and Fama, for directors he sees potential in Edmond Pang Ho Cheung.

Last year Eric and Eason collaborated in the film The Pye-Dog; in regards to Eason's acting Eric had nothing but good things to say. "I feel Eason is a good actor, his acting isn't bad. His acting is explosive. If he can focus on filming for a period of time, his achievements in acting will not be less than his achievements in singing. Artists these days are too greedy, singing and acting at the same time will split ones focus. I remember that Jacky Cheung stopped filming for a while and focused on his singing only, which is why he is such a successful singer," Eric says.

Eason Admits He Started Smoking Again

With 18,000 fans in yellow rain gear at his Eason's Moving On Stage 2 - Taipei concert, Eason Chan admitted that he has picked up the bad habit of smoking again. He explains that during dance rehearsals of the Hong Kong Eason's Moving On Stage 1 he felt bored and down with the repetition of dancing. The dance instructor saw him being down and handed him a cigarette, which Eason accepted. However, he will not smoke at home so his daughter can avoid a smelly dad. He feels that smoking is a bad habit and is something he should quit.

Hong Kong's Snow Disaster Relief Concert

A rarely seen sudden snowstorm has left 14 provinces and cities in China under disaster mode. Since the snow disaster, the entire country has found their ways to help. To show their patriotic spirit, the Hong Kong Entertainment Industry has organized a Stadium Snow Disaster Relief Concert to be held next month on March 1, 2008. East Asia Records has already named Andy Lau, Sammi Cheng, Andy Hui, Miriam Yeung and Denise Ho as performers for the concert. Jacky Cheung and Eason Chan are the other confirmed performers.

Eason Feels Guilty Being Separated from Wife & Daughter

Currently in the US for his 2008 Eason's Moving On Stage World Tour, Eason Chan has to separate from his wife and daughter, which leaves him feeling guilty. "Chinese New Year is a time for families to be together, but I will not be back in Hong Kong until after February 17th. Luckily my company has promised me a one week vacation so I will have time to spend with them then," Eason says.

Even though he is not in Hong Kong, he has prepared a 5 figure sum in red envelopes (packets) for his crew members. For the new year, Eason hopes he will release his new (Mandarin) album in May, saying, "My World Tour will run until the end of the year where I will be making multiple stops in Mainland, so I will need to bring many good Mandarin songs for the fans to listen to."

Eason Brings in the New Year in Beijing

Eason Chan, along with many other celebrities, brought in the new year in Beijing on February 6, 2008 night with many performances during the CCTV Spring Festival celebration 2008 春節晚會. With his rising popularity in the Mandarin market in 2007, Eason was slated to perform a solo during the Chinese New Year's Eve celebration. Two songs were considered for his performance 十年 and 愛情轉移, the latter was eventually the chosen song. The rundown for the show was set and after practices and reviewing of the rundown, the "rundown committee" felt the lyrics to 愛情轉移 were too sad and inappropriate to bring in the new year. The rundown was tweaked and Eason was re-organized to perform 同一個夢想 with other artists.

Universal/Go East Records Celebrates Chinese New Year

Being the big winners at the 4 Station's Music Awards Ceremony, 9 Universal/Go East singers (Alan Tam, Prudence Lau, Hacken Lee, Eason Chan, Eric Suen, Hins Cheung, Kay Tse, Patrick Tang and Kelvin Kwan) gathered to take pictures for the new year. Eason revealed that he will be performing in Beijing on Chinese New Year's Eve and then will fly to the US for his Moving On Stage World Tour and says he will spend half of February away from Hong Kong. Eason remembers that he received a red envelope, which consisted of a lottery ticket that included his lucky numbers 1, 7 and 27. "A fan gave it to me, I keep it in my wallet as a form of well wish," he says.

"Eason's Moving On Stage 2 - Taipei" Post-Concert News

Eason Chan's 2008 Moving On Stage World Tour kicked off on February 2, 2008 with the first stop in Taipei, Taiwan (Eason's Moving On Stage 2). To prepare for the expected rain Eason Chan and Co. prepared yellow rain gear for 18,000 fans. Eason had a cold going into the concert, but it did not matter as he gave it his all and performed through his cold and the falling rain. During the post-concert celebration, Eason assessed himself and gave the show a 70% rating due to his voice affected by his cold.

Celebrities who were in the audience included Jolin Tsai, Aska Yang, Jasmine Leong, Evonne Hsu, Sodagreen, etc. Wife and daughter, Hilary Tsui and Constance Chan, were in attendance, but whenever the audience in front of them stood up and blocked 3-year-old Constance's view she would cry and yell for them to sit down. Industry friends Leehom Wang and Jay Chou could not make it to the concert but sent flowers along with their wishes for a good show. David Tao also could not make the show, but instead of flowers he sent Eason a leopard print underwear wearing doll, which caused laughs throughout.

According to fans, Eason struggled with a couple of songs as he was coughing while singing, but he made it through each song and lasted the entire concert despite his cold.

Eason Chan Appears at Joey Yung's "Starlight" Concert

Eason Chan appeared as a surprise and special guest at Joey Yung's 2008 Starlight Concert on January 31, 2008 - 7th show. During the encore of the show Joey knew Eason was in the audience so she performed his 夕陽無限好. Half way through the song Eason got on stage to perform the rest of the song with her. When they sang the last line, 要獻便獻吻 (need to present you with a kiss), he kissed her on the cheek.

After the song, he showed her his all-access pass and said he can go anywhere with it. As he was about to get off the stage, one of her stage crews gave him an earpiece and microphone. Startled, he says he only went on stage to be her background singer, but she wouldn't let him off the hook so easily. She says, "You came up here, you can't leave without singing. You use Carl Wong's band (her band for the Starlight shows) frequently, they know how to play your songs blindfolded." She then led him to the rising portion of her stage and once he stepped on it rose and her band started to play 浮誇. He laughs, "You really put me up on stage (今次真係畀你擺上台)!" She danced while he performed and the atmosphere was at it's highest.
