Ivana Wong Performs Eason's Songs Live

On July 28, 2008 night, Ivana Wong held her 903 id club 拉闊變奏廳 concert. During the concert Ivana performed many of Eason Chan's songs. Ivana, who usually performs slow songs, unexpectedly started off the concert with a string of upbeat songs. She asked the audience to dance along with her and laughed that she rarely sings so loud. During the night she did not forget to perform a "broken gag" (爛 gag - a joke that isn't funny), when she was performing Eason's 大開眼戒 she purposely paused before singing the last line "其實我很美" ("actually I am very beautiful"), unfortunately no one understood the purpose. A brief moment later someone reacted to her "joke" and she thanked them for supporting her "broken gag."

After the concert Ivana revealed that she was extremely nervous because Eason's songs were extremely difficult to sing and because his range is extremely wide. When asked about rumored boyfriend Hins Cheung's attendance, Ivana says that she invited him and he should have tickets, but when she was informed that he did not show up she appeared to be disappointed and teary eyed. When a reporter jokingly asked her if their relationship had a third party, she laughed while saying she doesn't even know who the second party is. She says that she will find out why Hins didn't show up, but she will not pout even though she is disappointed, but she believes that he is busy with work. When asked if she wanted to cry, she answers she didn't and that she was just taken aback when she was informed that that he didn't show up.

The 5 concerts will feature Ivana Wong, Fiona Sit, Kay Tse, Vincy Chan and Hins Cheung, with each of them singing songs by another artist along with their own songs. Ivana Wong 王菀之 was the first to go and she performed a string of Eason songs.

Eason sure can dance

Eason Chan proved he had all the right moves – with both the girls and boys

ON SATURDAY night, Eason Chan proved he not only has the right voice, but the right moves as well. It’s a pity the crowd only warmed up during his encore. Still, I guess, it’s better late than never.

Watching Eason live is the best way to appreciate the versatile 33-year-old Hong Kong artiste’s music.

His warm, polished and expressive delivery of his many Mando- and Canto-pop hits, from King of Karaoke to Same Time Next Year, never fails to win the hearts of his fans.

But it was his cheeky stage antics during his Eason’s Moving On Stage 11 concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium that endeared him to his fans.

When the audience shouted that they preferred to hear him speak in Cantonese, Eason replied with a coy smile that he would not comply and started speaking in English instead.

Even good pal and fellow Hong Kong artiste Edmond Leung was not spared when he was invited to sing a last minute duet with Eason on stage.

As soon as Leung finished the first part of the song, Eason, who was supposed to sing the second part, stopped the music. He then thanked Leung before sending his buddy off the stage with a big hug.

Known for his flamboyant stage costumes, Eason’s wardrobe featured a dark robe with blinking blue lights, a black cape with rainbow-coloured feathers, and a suit with long peacock feathers sweeping the floor.

The highlight of the night was when he engaged in a steamy dance sequence with eight scantily-clad female dancers.

Not wanting anyone to feel left out, Eason got it on with his male dancers as well. Kudos to him for attempting G-rated dance moves as well, including the Tango and Waltz.

As a sweaty Eason jumped about on stage, performing yet another Canto-pop hit during the encore, the 7,000-strong crowd finally decided to ease themselves off their seats after more than two hours.

They even sang him a birthday song. Now that’s showing some real appreciation.

Eason Chan concert reflects a consummate performer

Two days of “Eason Chan's Moving on Stage 10” concert performed at the Cotai Arena of the Venetian Macao labelled the Hong Kong performer as being the consummate performer on Saturday night.

The concert, which was intended to be staged at 20:00 pm was delayed to nearly an hour later. However, it did not decrease the enthusiasm of the arena's concert-goers.

During the concert, Eason Chan performed over twenty-five familiar songs to his audience.

As well, he also made several jokes during the show, suggesting that he preferred to talk rather than sing. He added that he hadn't done enough talking at the concert.
On the other hand, he said that he would make compensate by singing more songs to the Macau audience.

When the atmosphere levels soared, Eason spontaneously jammed a song with his live brand in order to amuse the audience members.

At the finale of the concert, three sets of encores had to be made for the audience by Chan, who willingly obliged.

He finally gave a thank you to the sponsors and organiser of the concert, Johnnie Walker as well as to the Venetian Macao.

As an aside, his family and wife also showed up at the concert supporting him the entire night.

Eason Gets Beat Up...In New Film

Eason Chan, who recently accepting filming for a Western film, was in Central District filming a scene where he gets beat up by a number of men in a back alley. Due to a number of on-lookers passing by blocking the lights and Eason and the other actors not being able to hold in their laughter there were many NGs and the filming of that one scene took an hour.

Eason Chan Films New Western Film

Having filmed a number of Hong Kong productions in his career, Eason Chan will finally get a chance to film a Western film, to our knowledge Success Film Production (安樂電影公司) will take part in the production of this film. Two nights ago, Eason and a foreign actress were in Hong Kong's Lan Kwai Fong shooting an outdoor scene.

"7 Scholars" Write For Hacken Lee

Hacken Lee is getting ready to release an album in connection with his upcoming concert, both in September. He has invited Hong Kong's "7 Scholars" (i.e. male singer-songwriters) to help him write the songs to his upcoming album. The "7 Scholars" are Eason Chan, Hins Cheung, Justin, Jan Lamb, Khalil Fong, Jaycee Fong, and Louis Cheung. Hacken says, "This is a time to test my relationship with others. I will be working with my competitors. This is a rare diamond lineup." Hacken also reveals that so far he has received songs from everyone other than Eason and Jan.

"Lady Cop & Papa Crook" - Changes & Release Date

Two days ago, it was announced that the Eason Chan and Sammi Cheng starring film Lady Cop & Papa Crook has changed its unofficial Chinese title of 查之女 to its new and official title 大搜查. The film is expected to opened in Mainland China and Hong Kong theaters some time around Mid-Autumn Festival (currently rumored to be September 11, 2008).

This film marks Sammi's return to the big screen since 2005 and reunites Infernal Affairs, Confession of Pain, and Initial D producers and writers Andrew Law, Alan Mak, and Felix Chong.

Admiring Eason: Christine Fan 范瑋琪

During an interview with Sina Taiwanese singer-songwriter Christine Fan 范瑋琪 revealed that there were 2 singers she wanted to work with next, one of them being Eason Chan and the other being Chao Chuan 趙傳. "Eason's voice is full of expression. Aside from emotions his voice has this subtle holding back of pain," she says.

The interviewer asks if she agrees that when you get to know Eason he is playful and sometimes a pointless-fun type of person, but when it comes to singing he has a different personality. Fan Wei Qi agrees and says, "I've performed his 全世界都失眠 in the past and I admire him, I hope that we can work together soon. We once talked about this matter backstage and he told me he had listened to my album, I hope I will get the opportunity to work with him."
