"Eason's Moving On Stage 8 - Shanghai" Oriental Morning Post Promo

On the afternoon of March 4, 2008, Eason Chan participated in the Oriental Morning Post hosted Zero Distance, Contact with a Star 零距離,星接觸 function. During the event, Eason played games with fans and joked around. He was surprised by fans when a special guest, Brothers co-star Crystal Huang Yi, appeared to give him flowers.

In celebration of Eason's first time holding a concert at the "80,000 People Stadium" (Shanghai Stadium), his fans presented Eason with flowers that had the number '8' on it. Eason then praised how pretty his fans were. Host of the event, Li Yan, revealed that ticket sales to the concert were great and that many fans purchased the most expensive tickets (going for $1,580). Surprised at the expensive tickets, Eason says, "In Cantonese we call that 'yau mai' (有米, rich)."

During the event, songs were played and the fans guessed which songs they were. The first song came up and the fans shouted 我們都寂寞 (We Are Lonely). Eason laughs, "You guys are lonely?" His fans responded, "Yes, when we are lonely we will listen to your songs," which garnered much laughter from the crowd. After a round of songs, Eason says he wanted to challenge his fans. Once the music started going, the fans all shouted "Waterloo Station." Surprised, Eason responded, "Wow! You are real fans. You guys are even familiar with songs in my newest album Listen to Eason Chan!" His fans then responded, "Of course!" From his eyes, you could tell that Eason was deeply touched for fans who truly understood and supported him."

Eason was surprised when someone brought flowers onto the stage when suddenly Crystal Huang Yi appeared from behind, surprising him. He was so surprised that he only reacted with an "ah...." After a round of hugs and photos, Crystal spoke seriously, "I am from Shanghai, so I have to be a host. I hope that your concert next month will be successful. What would be better is if you gave me 2 tickets for free." From getting to know each other during the filming of Brothers, Eason says that Crystal is just like her "brother" because her personality is straight forward.

Eason Gives a Suprising Performance in "Brothers"

The cast of Brothers were in Guangzhou promoting the soon to be released film. Andy Lau and Eason Chan performed the theme song together with Eason writing the song and Andy writing the lyrics. Eason explains that because Andy already released his album, the duet will released on his upcoming album, which coincidently will be released October 18th, the same day the film is set to make its theatrical debut.

Over 200 reporters were present at the press conference where many of them caught the private screening of Brothers, and afterwards said Eason's performance will surprise you. Acting as a person who has no experience in organized crime but born, as a younger brother, into a triad family, Eason is able to get into the character of a person who struggles internally with both backgrounds while creating a brotherly bond. After hearing the praise, Eason responds, "My character does have a lot of internal emotions, which is why I felt a lot of pressure when filming with all the veterans. I am happy that I am getting praised, but I feel I could've done better. Hopefully, I can work with these veterans again in the future, so I can learn more from them."
