Admiring Eason: Cindy Yen 袁詠琳

Prior to becoming a recording artist, Cindy Yen (袁詠琳) participated in the 2009 Miss Chinatown USA Pageant where she placed first. Due to her interest in music and in pursuing a singing career, she returned to Taiwan last year where she sent countless demos to record companies. Unfortunately those companies rejected her demos until Jay Chou's company expressed interest. From there, Cindy released her debut album (last year) which was written entirely by herself.

Cindy expressed she was extremely nervous when she sang the duet 畫沙 for her debut album with her boss Jay Chou, saying, "He is my idol, so there was pressure and [I] was extremely nervous." Cindy learned to play the piano at age 4 and started to write music in middle school, to date she has written a total of 30-40 songs and expressed her hope in getting the opportunity to work with Eason Chan.

Note: 畫沙 is a song written by Cindy, it is also the first song ever that Jay Chou recorded which was not written by himself.
