A Kind Heart Leads Eason to a "Golden Horse" Nomination

In regards to his Best Supporting Actor nomination at the upcoming 45th Golden Horse Awards, for his role in the film Trivial Matters, Eason says he got the news as soon as it was revealed, "Director Pang Ho Cheung called me with the news and I also wanted to congratulate him and producer Chapman To. This film was really worth filming even though, at the time, I couldn't find time in my schedule to film." Eason recalls, "Initially Chapman called me and said he had something that I had to be stupid to take on (搵我笨) and I said I like being stupid (最鍾意畀人搵笨)." In regards to having heavy competition, Eason says he's just happy to be able to participate.

Director Pang Ho Cheung is extremely happy that Eason received the nomination and Chapman praised Eason for taking part in the film because he (Eason) wanted to help us (Pang Ho Cheung & Chapman) out and believes that Eason's kind heart led to the result of a nomination.

The following is a translation of Pang Ho Cheung (director, producer, writer of Trivial Matters)'s thanks to Eason.

Thank You

Yesterday I received news, Trivial Matters received four nominations at this year's Golden Horse Awards. Personally receiving a nomination is obviously something to be happy about, but more importantly, Eason Chan receiving a Best Supporting Actor nomination is what I'm most excited about. I feel Eason has a lot of potential as an actor and the way he helped Trivial Matters out, I am extremely grateful.

[We] didn't have much money to offer him, so receiving this nomination gives [me] a bit of comfort. Of course, his natural acting should also be credited to his on screen partner Isabel who helped out tremendously, so I would also like to thank [her]. I didn't watch the other films that are nominated in the same category, so I don't know what his chances are.
