Recap of Eason Chan at "Pax Musica 2009"

Yesterday, Hong Kong singer Eason Chan took part in Japan's Pax Musica Concert, in its 25th year, held at the Tokyo International Forum (東京國際論壇館). Pax Musica was founded by Shinji Tanimura, veteran of the Japanese music industry, in 1984 along with Korea's Cho Yong-pil and Hong Kong's Alan Tam. The motto "Asians, We Are One" was used to promote international cultural exchange and world peace.

According to Universal Music Group, Eason was treated cordially by the organizers as he was the only artist who brought along his own band. During the night Eason performed seven songs, including Stevie Wonder's Lately (a duet with Korean artist July) and the Japanese song Mr. Lonely (in Japanese).

Also noted by Universal Music, Ikuro Fujiwara (soundtrack producer of the film Painted Skin (畫皮)) was in attendance at the concert and expressed to a Universal Music employee, "Eason's performance was full of energy and enthusiasm, he is an infectious stage performer."

Through Universal Music, Eason expressed he had hoped to perform on stage in Japan many years ago and he finally got the chance. He also promised he would find time in the future to meet with fans who are in Japan. His next goal is to hold a concert at Nippon Budokan (日本武道館).
