Constance Chan Too Expensive to Invite as Guest Performer

In promoting his Moving On Stage 24 - Beijing Part II concert, Eason Chan was asked about rumors that his wardrobe stylist is wife Hilary Tsui. Eason laughed that she has been taken away from him by daughter Constance Chan, saying, "She is now Miss Chan's manager, in charge of her everyday life and school." This past father's day Eason's present was a phone call from his daughter. When asked about his daughter's music abilities, he answers, "When she watches concerts she gets real into it. She listens to all types of music such as rock, classical, children's songs, she is a child who loves music. One day, she was in her room imitating Madonna's dance moves, moving all around." When asked whether he has thought about inviting his daughter as a guest performer, Eason firmly answers, "No, she's too expensive."

On June 11, 2009, Eason Chan held his Same Wrong Sin Concert with Swing and Mr. Good friends Wyman Wong, William So and Denise Ho were in attendance, as were wife Hilary Tsui and daughter Constance Chan. As reporters approached Constance to take pictures, she cleverly used what was in her hand to cover her face. When Eason saw the swarm of reporters surrounding his daughter, he waved his hands towards them indicating for them to leave her alone. For the show, Eason wore the facial hair featured on H3M's album cover.

During the show, Eason revealed that he asked to be a guest performer at Wong Ka Keung & Paul Wong's upcoming concert, saying, "I called Paul expressing my interest in being a guest. I had real "thick skin" to recommend myself, but opportunities are out there for you to grab!" Eason performed Faye Wong's 開到荼靡 & Wong Ka Keung's 麻醉 during the show and performed an encore.

At the post-concert celebration, having performed through the night and ended up with a raspy voice, Eason joked, "I shouldn't have benefited them in Taiwan by performing for 4 hours." He then explained he visited a doctor two days ago and was told that his vocal chord should be white in color, however his present vocal cord was red and swollen among other things. Due to the severity, he was told to immediately quit smoking and to take steroids. Eason says, "Because I can't hold back when I sing live there was no other choice, but I don't take it (steroids) often so don't worry." When asked if his daughter recognized him with his facial hair on, he answered, "She recognizes me, but refuses to give me a kiss."

After the show, Eason, Hilary, Constance and William So went to Wan Chai for a midnight meal. At 1 in the morning, fans were still around holding up paper to block cameras from taking pictures of their idol.

jump attempt

Eason falls after the above jump attempt

For a second night (May 30, 2009) in a row, Eason Chan held the 21st stop of his Moving On Stage World Tour at Taipei Arena (臺北巨蛋 aka 小巨蛋). During the show Eason talked a lot, cracked jokes about himself and moved around a lot, during a jump attempt he fell and caused laughter from the audience.

It is estimated that the income from ticket sales for these two show are a whopping $51,300,000 TWD (about $12,800,000 HKD). During the second show, Eason performed one song after another and encored once and again causing the show to end after 12 am and reportedly being fined $300,000 for going over the time limit [he performed a total of 41 songs the 2nd night.]

With these shows being the 21st stop, Eason was asked if he wanted to chase Jacky Cheung's 100 show record. Eason answers, "I can do 100 shows, but Jacky did it in one year and it would require five years for me."

Wife Hilary Tsui and daughter Constance Chan were in attendance and artists who were also in the audience for the second show include Rainie Yang (楊丞琳), Julia Peng (彭佳慧), Da Mouth (大嘴巴), NONO, Hebe & Ella @ SHE, and others.

Dating for over 10 years, Edmond Leung and Karen Lam tied the knot a night ago. Although the couple did not have "the wedding of the century" and although the bride did not wear the most luxurious jewelry they, however, did have friendship as countless industry stars showed up at their wedding making it a "star-studded wedding."

To give his wife the best wedding possible, Edmond invited Dicky Cheung and Eric Tsang to be the MCs of the night. Edmond's "brothers" William So, Andy Hui and Eason Chan performed for the couple as William performed Love, Andy performed 唯獨你是不可取替 and Eason performed 明年今日. Edmond, who earlier said he wouldn't perform during the night, ended up performing 太太 太太. Edmond thanked William So for helping him with his tuxedo, Denise Ho's father for his help and Paco Wong for the 8 crates of wine.

Eason Won't Oppose Daughter Entering the Entertainment Industry

Two nights ago, at the 2008 McDonald's World Children's Day Concert Eason Chan praised a young girl for her performance of 站在高崗上, calling it professional and saying it is important to start learning at a young age.

As for his own daughter, Eason says he won't oppose her entering the entertainment industry as long as it is her choice and says, "I would share my experiences and knowledge with her, I would also follow in Eric Tsang's footsteps and would never tell her 'this or that is not good enough'. If she were to enter the industry, I would need to ask Eric to share his experience with me." When asked if he would require his daughter to graduate from college/university before she can enter the industry, Eason responds, "I don't know, it's hard to say because [right now] we don't know if she'll do well in school. I'm leaving my expectations open because I did not graduate from college/university and I was fortunate to meet a lot of great people."

Eason further says that since his daughter is frequently followed and taken pictures of by the media she has gotten use to it and says, "When she knows it is someone from the media she will wave her hand, [and jokes] she is very much like me, she will enter the industry just to have her pictures taken!"

On September 1, 2008 at 9:20 am, father and mother Eason Chan and Hilary Tsui arrived with their daughter Constance Chan at her kindergarten for the first day of school. Also attending the same school is Simon Yam's daughter Ella Yam and Kenny Bee's daughter Chung Yi. Eason, who has a habit of being late appears unable to let go of this bad habit and "caused" Constance to be late for her first day of school (with normal school days beginning at 9:00 am.) Simon Yam and Kenny Bee brought their daughters to school on time.

After dropping off their daughter, Eason and Hilary were seen getting into a BMW S350 worth $5.2 million TWD (roughly $1.3 million HKD), to Regal Hotel for breakfast. At 11:00 am, Eason and Hilary went to pick up Constance from school and the family of three were then seen headed towards their new home.

"Solidays" Autograph Session in Hong Kong

On August 26, 2008, Eason Chan was at a Hong Kong HMV for an autograph session to promoting his newest release Solidays. Rumors have recently surfaced that Eason, wife Hilary Tsui and daughter Constance Chan have planned on moving to a bigger house and with reporters spotting Hilary looking at furniture, Eason was asked if they are indeed moving, and Eason responds, "I don't want to answer that question. What we do, we do for our daughter. My wife and I are constantly being taken pictures of and we are use to it, but our daughter is still young and I hope that I won't affect her school, her classmates and her classmates' families. I don't look at magazines, but I know that the media follows my daughter and I hope that everyone will help [by not following her.]"

Eason Cleared of Infidelity Accusations

l-r: Raymond (Eason's assistant), Eason, 'unknown female'

Eason Chan has recently been busy in Taiwan promoting his newest album, Don't Want To Let Go, when unexpectedly, yesterday, reports surfaced that he was cheating on his wife.

Just two days ago, despite the rain, Eason performed for his fans during an autograph session and ended up wet from head to toe. The 'thanks' he got in return was a magazine publishing photos and a story accusing him of infidelity. The story alleged he had dinner with an 'unknown female' and afterwards went back to his room. Universal Music clarified that the 'unknown female' was a Universal Music Taiwan employee and stated that the reports are made up. Eason issued a response through a Universal Music promotions employee, who said, "[The pictured female] is a Taiwan co-worker, after work they went out for a meal and afterwards the female employee brought Eason back to the hotel, but did not go to his room. They went their separate way to rest."

Not being affected by the reports Eason returned to Hong Kong and continued work as usual filming a MV for his newest Cantonese song 歌.頌, which ended up taking 8 hours. Afterwards, Eason was friendly and polite, saying, "Sorry for making you wait." As for the reported infidelity accusations, Eason says, "I'm not going to respond."

Through a telephone interview, wife Hilary Tsui expressed that she fully trusts her husband, saying, "Of course I trust him! I won't mention it [to him] and I don't care [about the reports]. I knew there was something. Once I got to the street there were reporters following me, I just didn't know what he did. I even told him [about the reporters following.]" When asked if she immediately asked Eason about the accusations when she first heard of them, Hilary responds, "I don't need to ask him. If I ask, it means I don't trust him. We don't need to express our trust in each other thru words." Hilary has been busy taking care of their daughter Constance Chan and is busy with the upcoming school year opening; therefore, she doesn't have time to deal with non-relevant things.

After hearing about the accusations, manager Kaite Chan was not happy, saying, "Son (Eason) has always been a great father and great husband, which is why these accusations should not have appeared with his name in the first place. The 'unknown female' was with Eason because of work reasons. I have a full understand of the situation and she brought Eason and his assistant back to the hotel, but she did not go up to their rooms. I hope that these types of rumors will leave Eason for good because he absolutely is a caring family man."

Elsewhere, during an interview in Taiwan, Eason says he is not a good father especially since he has never read his daughter a bedtime story. Eason thinks into the future as says, "I hope that there will be a normal routine in the future. It's best if I can bring my daughter to school in the morning and afterwards meet up with Jacky Cheung to play some tennis, and end the night by tucking my daughter into bed."
